HP/Compaq: "Bios recovery for DV4,c700 And CQ40
BIOS recover is useful to bring up BIOS whenever BIOS system is
failed. Depend on what your BIOS model is the recovery method should
work well on DV4T, C700, and also HP Compaq CQ40. If you do this recovery for
C700 use the file name IBL80HW.FD. As the HP provides many different
BIOS you need to find the correct BIOS file to get the right one
(example: BIOS for CQ45-107AU is not the same as CQ45-107TX).

Here are the following methods to recover BIOS on a CQ45-107TX
running the InsydeH2O EFI BIOS using a USB thumb drive:
- Used the Insyde BIOS version F.04 file 30F7F04.FD
- Rename file 30F7F04.FD to 30F7.BIN and place it on a USB thumb drive
- Disconnect the AC adapter from the notebook.
- Remove the battery from the notebook.
- Insert USB thumb drive into one of the USB ports on the notebook.
- Hold down ‘Windows’ Key and the ‘B’ key.
- Connect the AC adapter.
- Press the ‘Power’ button on the notebook.
Here you see the HP notebook system starting search the USB thumb
drive files to load. When you heard beeps every 2 seconds, it’s
indicating the notebook started flashing. HP notebook will shutdown
automatically once the flashing BIOS finished. Now you should see the
BIOS is works properly.
Don’t worry, if the file was not found when the system is searching,
the HP notebook would reset itself and you can try again."
